Almost ten years ago now I read a newspaper article about a soldier that was in the hospital recovering from a roadside bomb. Both of his legs had been blown off and he had a long road to recovery ahead of him. Rather than coming to be at his side during his recovery, his wife came to the hospital to serve him divorce papers and to let him know she was taking his kids away from him.
The man was one of many listed that had committed suicide.
Honestly, that horrified me, and pissed me off.
Men have been fighting for our country for years, and I truly believe that it is one of the most noble things a man- or woman- can do for the betterment of their country. If anyone deserved a happy ever after and love, it was these courageous people returning from war. So, I started the Lost and Found series.
If you haven't read the books, the basic premise is that three men return from war changed both physically and mentally and struggle to find a place in the civilian world. When they are unable to do that, they create an investigative company that only hires other disabled veterans. They solve crimes and find love and acceptance along the way.
I've been writing for a long time. Since 2010, actually. And in that time I've written over thirty books, 18 of which in the Lost and Found series. I can't imagine not writing them, and have several more planned for the upcoming years, as well as several spinoff series.
I hope I can tell you a story that will make you cry and dream of love, and be kinder to your fellow man.
